Impact Testing Machines · Izod
An Izod impact testing machine clamps the notched specimen vertically, like a cantilever, and strikes it with a pendulum on the notch side. The absorbed energy indicates the impact resistance of metals and plastics.
Our IT 30 series and Auto Impact machines perform both Izod and Charpy tests: the pendulum has a lower starting position for Izod and an upper one for Charpy, so one machine covers both methods.
