Compressive Strength Testing Machine

CTMs for concrete, cement, bricks, blocks and pellets

Compression Testing Machines (CTM) · Compressive Strength

A compressive strength testing machine loads a specimen until it fails and calculates its compressive strength from the maximum load and the loaded area. It is used every day to accept concrete and cement, and to qualify bricks, blocks, pavers and other building materials.

Our range covers the CTE, CTE 4C and CTE PRO compression testing machines from 500 kN to 5000 kN, plus the CCS-10 cold crushing strength tester for iron ore pellets.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is compressive strength calculated?

Compressive strength = maximum load at failure / cross-sectional area of the specimen, usually expressed in N/mm² (MPa).

Can one CTM test both cubes and cement mortar?

Yes, with suitable platens and spacers, though a smaller-capacity machine gives better resolution for cement mortar cubes.

Do you provide digital display upgrades?

Yes. Many analogue CTMs can be upgraded with a digital load indicator with peak hold. Contact us with your machine details.
