CTM Machine Calibration

CTM machine calibration verifies the force-measuring system of a compression testing machine so that concrete cube and cylinder results can be trusted. We calibrate CTMs as per IS 14858 and ISO 7500-1 using calibrated load cells or proving rings, on site, with NABL accredited certificates.

We calibrate analogue, digital and computerised CTMs of all makes in RMC plants, precast yards, site labs, cement plants and government laboratories across India.

What we check on a CTM

  • Force indication error and repeatability at several points across the range
  • Zero return and peak-hold function of digital indicators
  • Condition of platens and freedom of the spherical seat
  • Pacer / loading-rate indication, where fitted

Our calibration process

  • Enquiry and scope: share the machine type, make, capacity and ranges to be calibrated.
  • Scheduling: our engineer visits your site with calibrated reference standards (proving rings / load cells, reference blocks, etc.).
  • Pre-checks: visual and functional inspection; minor adjustments where needed.
  • Calibration: measurements at the specified points per the applicable standard, with repeatability and error calculations.
  • Certificate: a traceable calibration certificate showing the class, errors and measurement uncertainty.

How often should a CTM be calibrated?

At least once a year, and after any repair, gauge replacement or relocation.

Can you calibrate a CTM with a dial gauge?

Yes. We calibrate analogue and digital CTMs. Badly worn dial gauges may need replacing before calibration.

Do you calibrate CTMs at construction sites?

Yes. Our engineers visit project sites, RMC plants and labs across India.
